Black people stop talking white around white people or when speaking to white people

White people don’t talk black when talking to black people then switch back to talking white when speaking to white people, so why do black people feel they have to adjust their voice when talking to white people?
The problem isn’t sounding white
The problem is changing your voice to sound white when blacks speak to a white person. There’s a difference between a black who sounds white because of where they may have grew up and a black persons who adjust their voice to sound white when speaking to white people.
What’s wrong with sounding black?
Black people changing their voice to sound white when speaking to white people is not cool because that’s not being authentic. Why should you have to adjust your voice to fit in? What have you gained by adjusting your voice to sound white? Please tell me you have gained something.
Whoever don’t like you for how you naturally are that’s too bad.
When will people learn that it’s best to be themselves? Imagine a white person switching their voice to mimic a black person when speaking with black people. That would be the end of time. They’d be labeled as racist.
I don’t aspire to fit in or be like white people
I’ll never adjust my voice to sound like them. When I had Facebook, this black dude tried to sell me LegalShield. He called me and sounded white.
However, I knew he was black. He stated that when he call black people that don’t know he’s a black man they are surprised to learn he is black. If I didn’t know he was black I would of thought he was white.
He explained that he grew up around white people. And that’s cool. If that’s what you grow up around and go to school with you will naturally sound like the people you spend the most time with.
In one conversation, he told me that I shouldn’t post what I post on my page because I am studying for the Bar Exam to be a lawyer. I told him that I’m not trying to fit in and that it was my page.
Whoever judges me by social media I don’t want to deal with them. I am no longer on Facebook. However, he was the type of guy trying to climb the white corporate ladder. A lot of black people feel like that have to be culturally like white people to be successful or get the job. I don’t — I don’t care.
