It’s realistic. It’s expected because they have a platform and an ability to speak out about things, but people like Michael Jordan choose not to because they get paid to not care. I don’t buy his shoes nor am I a fan of him or basketball. He seems like a puppet to me. Another tall black man dribbling a ball who signed a shoe deal that kills inner city youth.
People become their job titles. A judge becomes a square, emotionless, boring, dull, dry, conservative judge. A comedian becomes just that — for example, Mike Epps never says anything intelligent.
At the end of the day — you’re a human being first and foremost. The difference is the amount of money you have accumulated. Being that you are human, you still have a voice. Being an activist and caring about the world in which we all have to live — should not be limited to activist.
