Poor People Should Not Have Children

Some people think they should and/or can have children despite being poor. They say things like it’s discrimination to deny children to poor people. That’s quite some logic. This reasoning suggests that people are entitled to have children because they are human with the parts to reproduce. It also suggests that the people who believe this intend to put the cost of raising that child on the rest of society that had no part in making that child.

I believe that a poor person who has the ability to think and understand that it cost a lot of money to raise a child should not have children if they do not have the means to raise their children. It’s a different story when a person does not have the mental capacity to understand this. However, for the people who do and still decide to have children despite being poor are selfish.

Why should a child come into the world with a small chance of living a fulfilling life because their parent(s) are too poor to provide their basic needs and other important things for healthy development?
