Avoid being scammed online
1 min readAug 9, 2020
People are getting scammed.
They are paying for services, but never received the service. Then the person they paid disappears. In order to minimize financial loss:
- Put down a deposit to start the work. Never pay upfront for the service, especially when it will take days, weeks, or months to complete.
- Pay a second deposit at an agreed upon date after reviewing the progress. Then decide whether it’s moving in the right direction and to keep going.
- After it’s completed pay what’s left.
- Never pay for services upfront from people you don’t know.
Always get the terms of your agreement in writing. If they do not provide you with an agreement, chances are, they are not legit, professional, or business savvy. If they are in a rush for you to pay the whole thing, you should probably find someone else.
