Did You Know That Black Women Make Up Less Than 1% of Partners At Law Firms?
I don’t like people like this lady. She’s part of the problem. It’s a reason I ain’t a lawyer yet. But it’s coming. I’m a real one that’s not for the games or excuses.
According to Yolanda Strader
“Black women make up less than 1% of partners at law firms?
That’s why I’m so proud to be able to make this post: Today was my last day as a law firm associate because I had the great pleasure of being promoted/elected to shareholder at Carlton Fields, where I started my legal career as a summer associate more than 10 years ago. I can’t say thank you enough to every single mentor, colleague, and friend who advocated for me, gave me constructive criticism, reminded me that I was worthy and talented, introduced me to an opportunity, and challenged me. But more than anything, I’m thankful for my family, and especially my husband who has been my biggest cheerleader during this transition from associate to shareholder. I’m excited about this new chapter of my practice and have every intention of paying it forward to the next generation of diverse lawyers.”
