Breonna Taylor $12 Million Settlement

Breonna Taylor’s family settled for a ~$12 million settlement. If the police wrongfully killed one of my relatives, I would not take a cash settlement. Nothing changes when you accept money. The money goes right back into the hands of the oppressor. They should have asked for reparations for all black people.

You can’t put a price on being wrongfully killed by the police. People are not loyal. When money is in the picture they no longer want “justice”. Money for a life is not justice. I’m not surprised by the outcome. She was involved with a drug dealer. It’s likely she didn’t come from money.

Maybe in their eyes justice is getting out of poverty. But how about not being in poverty? How about getting out of poverty before having children, so that your children won’t grow up selling drugs or hang out with people that sell drugs?
