Black College Graduates More Likely to Be Unemployed or Underemployed

I’m a black college graduate. This is true. Unemployed and Underemployed has been my fate since graduating 5 years ago in 2015 from law school. I’ve even lived in my car since graduating from law school.

What JT said is true,

“Some of y’all walked a straight path and still don’t have nothing.”

College does not pay off for most people in the black community in the United States of America. People ask me all the time, if you went to law school how can you be broke and homeless?

That’s why college education isn’t the norm in the black community. Women start having children early and depend on the welfare system. College education does not advance your life economically.

I’m trying to tell my 16 year old niece, who works at a grocery store making minimum wage to be self-employed. She is a junior in high school. I asked her was…
